Kevin Hart has issued a brief statement about the car accident that left him and two others injured.
Hart’s comments came as the California Highway Patrol released a report Thursday on its investigation, saying reckless driving led to the single-vehicle crash.
Hart’s friend, Jared Black, was driving the actor’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda on Sept. 1, when he accelerated and lost control while turning on to Mulholland Highway near Malibu, the report from the California Highway Patrol said.
After careening off the winding road, the car plowed through a wooden fence, rolled over and landed in a ditch just before 1 a.m. A third person in the vehicle, Black’s fiancée Rebecca Broxterman, suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said it appeared no one in the car was wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP report. Authorities have previously said Black was not under the influence of alcohol.
Despite the accident, Hart voiced his support for Black.
“I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery,” he told NBC News Friday through his attorney.
The comedian was released from the hospital several weeks ago. He returned to work this week to promote his new movie, Jumanji: The Next Level. But his attorney said Hart probably won’t be ready to return to work full-time until next year as he continues with physical therapy.
Hart can now walk on his own, but he has been sitting for many of the promos for his new movie, his reps have said.
