Kevin Hart made his first-ever appearance on the San Diego Comic-Con convention floor while signing autographs for fans at “Moxxi’s Bar” inside the Borderlands booth on Friday.
Comic-Con is a massive event for fans of comic books, films and series franchises held annually in San Diego.
“It’s amazing, getting to see fans at this level is definitely an experience. People that embrace not just the video games or the movies, but the ideas, the creativity,” Hart said at the event.
“So to be lucky enough to be a part of a project that gets to be at the forefront of something like this, it’s big. I don’t take it for granted,” he added.
Based on the best-selling video game franchise, Borderlands follows a ragtag team of misfits on a mission to save a missing girl who holds the key to unimaginable power.

Hart plays Roland, a seasoned mercenary on a mission.
In the video game, the bar that players encounter is called Badass Crater Bar and can be entered once the Chop Suey mission is completed. A bright neon sign with the words Moxxi’s Red Light is shown on the outside of the bar in the game.
Borderlands’ all-star cast includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The Lionsgate film arrives in theaters on August 9.
The official trailer opens with Blanchett, Hart, Munteanu, Curtis and Greenblatt looking down at a robot inside a manhole cover who says “Would you look at that? A ladder! Unfortunately my design doesn’t facilitate this type of…” before Hart kicks the robot in.
“Well, destiny awaits,” Hart says while wearing a black beret as Roland.
