Paramount+ will bring a new true crime series to audiences called PD True, focusing on the police officers who worked some of the most heinous cases in U.S. history.
Viewers will hear from the cops “who had to sift through horrific crime scenes or carry out risky undercover assignments” to get to the truth, per the show’s official description.
One episode will chronicle the aftermath of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
“There were 300 people in there,” a police officer says in the trailer as he recounts details of the shooting. “It’s straight up a hostage situation.”

Another episode focuses on Aileen Wuornos, one of the country’s rare female serial killers, and unveils “never-before-seen evidence” on her crimes, Paramount+ said in a recent press release.
Other cases explored on the 10-episode series include the North Hollywood bank robbery-turned-shootout, and the horrific killing of a Playboy model.
“She didn’t have any fingers, they’d been cut off,” a police officer says in the trailer. “What kind of monster would do this?”
The series is developed by See It Now Studios, the team behind the Paramount+ shows FBI True and Never Seen Again.
PD True is produced by Efran Films Canada for See It Now Studios. Shawn Efran, Craig Turk and Azadeh De Leon are executive producers. Mary Bissell is showrunner and an executive producer. Additional executive producers include Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong.
All ten episodes begin streaming Tuesday, Aug. 6 on Paramount+.
