A Los Angeles judge on Thursday rejected a request by Kevin Hart for a temporary restraining order against blogger Tasha K. The TRO would have forced the internet personality to take down her viral “tell-all” interview with Hart’s ex-personal assistant, Miesha Shakes.
A two-minute teaser of the interview was posted to the “Unwine With Tasha K” YouTube channel on Dec. 22, and has nearly 200,000 views. Shakes alleged the married Hart is a serial “cheater,” “impregnated” one of his employees, and has a gambling addiction.
Days later, Hart filed an extortion lawsuit against Shakes and Tasha K, born Latasha Kebe, in Los Angeles Superior Court for defamation and extortion.
The Ride Along star said Shakes had a non-disclosure agreement and breached it by sitting down with Tasha K. Hart additionally claimed he received a phone call from “an unidentified individual” saying they were “affiliated with Kebe,” and warned him the interview would be published “unless Hart paid a ransom of $250,000.” The comedian said he refused to pay and called the police.

Hart’s lawyers claimed the comedian and his K. Hart Enterprises Inc. suffered “irreparable harm” as a result of the interview.
The comedian took additional legal action last week by filing a motion for a temporary restraining order, asking a judge to order Tasha K and her company Yelen Entertainment to remove “the interview and related content” from her website, YouTube channel and other online platforms.
During a hearing on Thursday, Jan. 25, Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff rejected the request for a TRO, according to CourtHouse News Service.
“I think the request is overbroad,” Beckloff said. “The request is vague. I’m not sure what ‘any content relating to Kevin Hart’ is,” said Beckloff.
The judge said Hart’s legal team they can file for a motion for a preliminary injunction with another judge if they want to move forward.
