The 2026 Netflix Is a Joke festival is adding more star power, with Dave Chappelle set to perform three nights at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

The streaming giant announced details on Tuesday, April 28, saying the comedian will take the stage May 7-9. The shows will feature a mix of comedy and music, with surprise special guests joining Chappelle.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. PT, with more details available on the festival’s website.

Netflix released a promo video teasing Chappelle “pulling up” to the festival and “bringing some of his friends.”

The festival takes place every two years in Los Angeles. This year it runs from May 4-10, with the lineup featuring Kevin Hart, Katt Williams, Jon Stewart, Shane Gillis, John Mulaney, Seth Rogen, Jerry Seinfeld, Nikki Glaser, Tiffany Haddish, and more.

Chappelle performed at the inaugural Netflix Is a Joke fest in 2022. He was attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl by a man carrying a replica gun with a retractable knife blade attached. No one was injured and the suspect was immediately taken into custody.

The LAPD identified the attacker as a local man named Isaiah Lee, who had a history of mental health issues and homelessness. Police released pictures of the weapon Lee was carrying when the department announced his arrest.

Lee, who was 23 when the attack happened, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and entering a restricted area during a live event. An L.A. County judge sentenced him to 270 days in jail in December 2022, as previously reported.

At the time of the attack, Chappelle had been facing criticism for comments he made in his 2021 stand-up special, The Closer, about the transgender community.

Lee did an interview with the New York Post and said he was disturbed by the comedian’s jokes and rushed the stage. “I identify as bisexual… and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” Lee told the outlet.

In a civil lawsuit against the Hollywood Bowl, Lee alleged negligent security and battery, claiming he was left unprotected as Hollywood Bowl staff stood by and allowed the comedian’s entourage to “beat” him.
