Kevin Hart says it’s “beneath” him to address comments questioning his talent and achievements, especially when they come from people who are all “talk.”
In an interview this week with the UK’s Independent, Hart said criticism “comes with the territory,” but he refuses to dwell on it.
“It’s not worth my time for a response or an engagement. It’s extremely beneath me in the position that I’m currently in… I think those that can’t, talk about those that can,” said Hart.
The Night School star’s comments came in response to fellow comic Katt Williams calling him an industry “plant,” during his viral interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast.

Williams and Hart have traded insults in interviews and on social media for years, but Williams kicked the criticism up a few notches when he sat down with Sharpe for a nearly-three hour Jan. 3 interview.
He accused Hart of making false claims about his career and inflating the level of his success.
“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club,” Williams said.
Williams added that Hart has been avoiding him for two decades.
“Kevin Hart went 25 years without ever being in the same building with me at the same time. If I go in the building, he walks out,” Williams said.
He then claimed Hart is a Hollywood puppet, who made a name for himself in stereotypical roles that Williams turned down.
“For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was just, ‘Can we take some of this stepin fetchit s–t out and then I can do it,’” said Williams.
“Like it don’t need to be overtly homosexual ’cause I’m not homosexual right? It doesn’t need that to be funny, right? And me saying that and them going, ‘Oh yeah, no problem,’ and then going to give it to this other guy and having him do it just like it was and acting like I’m a bad person because I keep standing on my standard,” Williams added.
