After delivering a knockout performance in Creed III, Jonathan Majors is setting his sights on the NBA.
The actor is preparing for a role as former Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman in the upcoming film 48 Hours in Vegas.
The movie was announced last year, when Majors entered negotiations to play the Bulls legend. Now that the project is moving forward, the Devotion actor says he’s looking forward to meeting Rodman.
“Hopefully, I get to sit with him and chat with him,” Majors in a recent interview with The Associated Press.
Majors is no lightweight after appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania; The Harder They Fall; Da 5 Bloods; The Last Black Man in San Francisco; and the television series Lovecraft Country.

But he admits playing the eccentric NBA champion will be challenging.
“I never really put a ceiling on myself, but this is definitely a role where I’m pushing that ceiling out. Because he demands that. He’s such a full individual, so he’s going to demand a lot and I have to figure out how to get that,” Majors added. “I’m excited about it.”
For now, the actor says the team behind the film is “trying to get the script right.”
The story centers on Rodman’s infamous 48-hour trip to Las Vegas during the 1997-98 season. Michael Jordan discussed the situation in The Last Dance documentary series.
“He didn’t come back on time. We had to go get his ass out of bed,” Jordan said. “And I’m not going to say what’s in his bed or where he was.”
Majors is currently one of the busiest actors in Hollywood.
Earlier this week, it was announced that he’ll star in Da Understudy, an upcoming film Spike Lee is in talks to direct about “life imitating art when the understudy of a Broadway production finds a role he’s willing to kill for.”
