Jamie Foxx is bringing his signature brand of comedy to Netflix for a new series based on his real life, it was announced Tuesday.
Foxx will be starring in and producing Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, which will tell the story of his real-life relationship with daughter Corinne Foxx, who will produce alongside her dad and Alex Avant.
The series will also star the actor and comedian’s In Living Color co-star David Alan Grier, Kyla-Drew, Porscha Coleman, and Jonathan Kite.

Bentley Kyle Evans, co-creator of Foxx’s 1990s WB sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran for five seasons, will serve as showrunner.
The new comedy will mark the Oscar-winning performer’s return as a series regular after The Jamie Foxx show went off the air in 2001.
Foxx and Corrine have previously worked together on the Fox game show Beat Shazam. Corinne shared the news about the new series with her followers on Instagram.
“We’ve been sharing our stories for years and now we can finally bring them to television! Thank you @netflix for giving my literal diary a place to live and breathe,” she wrote.
