The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special finally has a filming plan and a location for fans to stream the iconic event.
The cast is coming together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beloved sitcom, and the special will air on HBO Max, the streamer announced Monday.
The special will offer an unscripted look back at the series and its cultural impact since 1990. It will be produced by Will Smith’s Westbrook Media, with plans to tape on Sept. 10 — the actual anniversary of the original air date. Viewers will be able to watch sometime around Thanksgiving.

All the cast favorites will be back to discuss the series, including Will Smith, Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey the Butler), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv), and recurring guest DJ Jazzy Jeff. James Avery, best known for his role as Uncle Phil, died in 2013.
HBO Max says the special will be a “funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and special surprise guests.”
The program will be directed by Marcus Raboy and executive-produced by Rikki Hughes, who will also serve as showrunner, as well as Miguel Melendez, Lukas Kaiser and Brad Haugen for Westbrook Media.
The cast got back together earlier this year for a more informal gathering on Smith’s social media, and reminisced about what they’ve been up to for the last few decades.
As previously reported, it was announced that The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would be getting a reboot, but this time as a gritty drama.
