Coming 2 America is adding more star power to the cast, with Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne, and rapper Rick Ross signing on for the sequel to the hit 1988 film.

Original cast members James Earl Jones and Paul Bates are also set to return. They join previously announced stars Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall.

The original film saw Murphy play Prince Akeem, a spoiled royal from the fictional African nation of Zamunda, who travels to Queens, New York, in search of a bride. With his man servant Semmi (Hall) by his side, they go undercover and work in an American fast food restaurant.

The new movie will follow Akeem, who is set to become King of Zamunda but discovers he has a son he never knew about in Queens. Honoring his father’s dying wish to prepare his son to become crown prince, Akeem and Semmi return to meet the unlikely heir.

Snipes will play a new character named General Izzi, Entertainment Weekly reported Wednesday. Layne will play Akeem’s daughter, and Leslie Jones’ role is being kept under wraps. James Earl Jones reprises his role as Akeem’s father, King Jaffe Joffer, with Bates as royal servant Oha. Ross’ role in the film is not yet known.

Craig Brewer is directing the sequel and Kenya Barris is writing the script. Coming 2 America is set to arrive in theaters on Dec. 18, 2020.
