An all-new episode of VH1’s Infamy: When Fame Turns Deadly premiered tonight to tell the true crime story of the fatal shooting of New Orleans rapper Young Greatness in 2018.

The series explores the murder of the “Moolah” artist, real name Theodore Jones, who was killed outside a Waffle House in his hometown at age 34.

A tweet from VH1’s official Twitter account ponders if the up-and-coming rapper was targeted because of his raising fame.

In a preview video for the episode, the show looks into animosity between Young Greatness and hip-hop rival Mr. Magnificent.

“Greatness’ mom text me, ‘Hey, did you kill my son?’ And I’m like ‘No ma’am, I didn’t kill your son. I was on Instagram Live when it happened,’” Mr. Magnificent says.

Earlier this month, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported the last defendant in the case Donald Reaux will be sent to a mental hospital for treatment. Reaux is charged with second-degree murder. The other two defendants in the case pleaded guilty.

As previously reported, Infamy: When Fame Turns Deadly is an eight-episode series which explores the murders of several prominent celebrities. The show is hosted by R&B singer Monica and premiered on June 7. Tonight’s episode on Young Greatness aired on VH1 at 10/9C p.m.
