Idris Elba Lion Thriller ‘Beast’ Set for Peacock Premiere

Beast will begin streaming this week on Peacock, the streamer announced Tuesday.

Idris Elba leads the cast of the thriller about a father and his two teenage daughters who visit a South African game reserve and “find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the savannah has but one apex predator.”

Sharlto Copley, Iyana Halley and Leah Sava Jeffries also star.

The thriller debuted in theaters on Aug 19. It opened with an underwhelming $11.5 million at the domestic box office, and went on to make $56.5 million worldwide.

The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur from a script written by Ryan Engle. Kormákur produces alongside Will Packer, James Lopez, Baltasar Kormákur.

Beast begins streaming Friday, Oct. 7 on Peacock. Watch the trailer below.
