Halle Berry was injured while filming a fight scene for her upcoming mixed martial arts movie Bruised.

The film’s executive producer, Brian Pitt, told NJ Advance Media that Berry “got slightly injured in the fight.” As a result, a shoot scheduled for Monday was delayed to give the Oscar-winning actress — who is also directing the film — time to rest.

“She’s tired. She needed a break,” Pitt said.

The producer declined to give details on Berry’s injury, but said it was “nothing serious.”

Filming had been scheduled to take place at Mack’s Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark, NJ, on Monday. The shoot is now in the process of being rescheduled.

“Occasionally what’s going to happen is an actor might get a little injured, and we might adjust scheduling around them a little bit,” Pitt explained.

In the film, Berry plays Jackie “Justice,” a former MMA fighter who has fallen on hard times.

Over the past several months Berry has undergone intense physical training to prepare for the role. Throughout the process, she’s documented her progress on Instagram and at 53, is in the best shape of her life.

On Nov. 8, Berry posted a picture of her newly achieved six-pack abs.

“There’s no better feeling than setting a goal and smashing it,” she captioned the photo. “One of my goals for Bruised, ripped abs – and today? I finally got them, and it feels unbelievable!”

Berry encouraged fans to set the bar high for their own fitness goals and stick to the plan.

“The work won’t be easy, but that pay off? Worth every damn second,” she said.
