Keyshia Cole may be more than a decade older than boyfriend Niko Khale, but she refuses to be called his “elder.”
The two stopped by Nick Cannon’s Power 106 morning radio show on Thursday (Nov. 14) to promote Cole’s upcoming BET special Keyshia Cole: My New Life.
The R&B singer is 38 and Khale just turned 24 in October. The two are parents to a baby boy born in August.

Cole chatted with Cannon about returning to reality TV and making new music. Then the conversation turned to younger men and older women.
Cannon, 39, was previously married to Mariah Carey, who is 10 years older. He asked Khale what it’s like to start a family with a successful “queen” who is his “elder.”
Cole wasn’t happy about the description and cut Cannon off.
“I am not a f–kin’ elder! I am not his f–kin’ elder,” she said.
Cannon responded by telling Cole, “Yes you are. Embrace it.”
“No. No. No. Mariah’s your elder. I am not his elder,” she shot back.
“She is and I embraced it,” Cannon explained. “There is nothing wrong with being a younger man who was being molded and shaped by someone older. I learned so much from Mariah.”
After realizing the interview had gotten off track, Cole turned the conversation around by joking about the “Mariah” tattoo Cannon got on his back when he was with the “Heartbreaker” singer.
