Griselda (Netflix)

Sofía Vergara refuses to take orders and won’t back down in the first full-length trailer for Netflix’s Griselda.

The streamer released the trailer for the six-part limited series on Thursday.

“After all that I’ve been through, I’m not going to give it away for nothing!” Vergara says in the video.

The actress leads the cast as late cartel boss Griselda Blanco, who left Colombia in the 1970s and expanded into Miami.

The preview shows Vergara being warned by male narco-traffickers to stay in her lane, but she has other plans.

“I swear, I know what I’m doing,” Vergara says.

The cast also includes Alberto Guerra (as Dario Sepúlveda), Christian Tappan (Arturo Mesa), Martín Rodríguez (Rivi Ayala), Juliana Aidén Martinez (June Hawkins), and Vanessa Ferlito (Carmen Gutiérrez).

In real life, Griselda Blanco created one of the most profitable cartels in history and was believed to be responsible for dozens of killings.

The DEA eventually caught up with Blanco, who became known as the “Cocaine Godmother.” She was convicted of murder and racketeering, and served time in federal prison in the U.S., before being deported and eventually gunned down.

The drama series on her life is executive produced by Narcos and Narcos: Mexico showrunner and directing team Eric Newman and Andrés Baiz. Additional executive producers include Doug Miro, Ingrid Escajeda, and Carlo Bernard along with Sofía Vergara and Luis Balaguer with Latin World Entertainment.

Ingrid Escajeda & Doug Miro are co-showrunners. Andrés Baiz directed all six episodes.

Griselda premieres Jan. 25, 2024 on Netflix.
