Netflix’s animated Good Times series is coming to the screen in April.
The reimagined comedy is inspired by the classic 1970s sitcom of the same name, and will focus on the next generation of the famous Evans family.
Seth MacFarlane and the late Norman Lear are executive producers on the reboot. Carl Jones (The Boondocks) and Ranada Shepard (Act Your Age) are co-creators and showrunners.
Shepard unveiled first-look images from the series Wednesday, March 20, on Instagram, and included the caption: “Allow me to introduce you to the Evans Family.”

The reimagined series was first announced in September 2020, but faced delays along the way.

The original Good Times aired on CBS from 1974 to 1979 and was executive produced by Norman Lear.

Ja’Net Dubois, Ralph Carter, Jimmie Walker and Bern Nadette Stanis also starred. Amos left the series after three seasons, but made a surprise appearance on ABC’s “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” one-episode Good Times remake in 2019.
The 2024 reimagined series comes from Sony Pictures Television, Fuzzy Door Productions, Act III Productions, and Unanimous Media.
Good Times is set to premiere April 12 on Netflix.
