Garcelle Beauvais is expanding her production deal at Lifetime with two new original movies.
In an announcement on Wednesday, May 28, the network said Beauvais has signed on to executive produce and star in the films Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie and Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted 2 Love, which is a sequel to the network’s hit 2024 romance drama.
“I’m thrilled to continue telling stories that resonate deeply with audiences and put women — especially Black women — at the center,” Beauvais said in a press release. “Working with Lifetime has given me the opportunity to expand narratives that are heartfelt, suspenseful, and full of purpose.”
In March, the actress, producer and model announced she was stepping away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The Haitian-American star joined the show for season 10, which premiered in 2020, and was the first Black cast member on the West Coast-set edition of the Bravo juggernaut.

Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming at A&E, Lifetime and LMN, said Beauvais’ new films reinforce Lifetime’s commitment to telling diverse stories.
“We are honored to continue our collaboration with Garcelle as both a producer and star. These new films not only deepen the emotional and cultural resonance of our programming but also reaffirm our shared commitment to championing diverse voices and stories that matter,” said Bryant.
Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie
Beauvais plays Kai, a trucker and co-owner of her family’s business, who is thrown into a manhunt after her niece Toy is abducted by an online predator. When law enforcement hits a dead end, Kai uses her trucking network and social media influence to start a grassroots rescue mission.
The film is produced by Navid Soofi for PF Maple Productions in association with Studio TF1 America. Garcelle Beauvais, Jason Egenberg and Gordon Gilbertson executive produce. Kailey Spear and Sam Spear direct from a script by Germaine Hill, Francesca Gailes and Jacqueline J. Gailes.
Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted 2 Love
The film is a sequel to Lifetime’s popular 2024 movie Tempted by Love. In the new film, Beauvais reprises her role as Ava, a famous chef who seems to have moved on from heartbreak from Luke, who was 20-years her junior. Ava is now headlining a culinary event in Ireland and has a new boyfriend when she crosses paths with Luke. Although both have new partners, sparks fly between Ava and Luke once again.
The movie is produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content. New York Times bestselling author Terry McMillan executive produces alongside Garcelle Beauvais. Tamara T. Gregory co-executive produces and writes the script.
Additional casting and premiere dates will be announced in the coming months.
