Eve is set to star in the upcoming pilot for ABC’s hip-hop drama Queens.
The show centers on four estranged and out-of-touch women in their 40s who reunite in hopes of recapturing their fame and swagger from the time they worked together as ’90s hip-hop group Nasty Bi-ches.

Eve will play Brianna, who was known as Professor Sex — one fourth of the Nasty Bi-ches.
Here’s how ABC described the show in a statement to TheWrap: “Today Brianna is a proud wife and mother of five — in a stained sweat suit who barely has a second to breathe. Not glamorous. But Brianna loves her life. The Nasty Bi-ches are a distant, distant memory. But when an opportunity arises for the group to reunite, Brianna will grapple with whether or not she still has the swagger and confidence that made her an icon decades ago.”
Queens comes from writer and executive producer Zahir McGhee, who previously worked on ABC’s Scandal and For the People. Sabrina Wind also serves as an executive producer, and ABC Signature will produce.
In December 2020, Eve said goodbye to The Talk after three seasons as a panelist on the CBS daytime talk show.
The actress and Grammy-winning rapper’s other TV and film credits the Barbershop movies and her self-titled UPN sitcom Eve.
In a recent interview with the TV One docuseries Uncensored, Eve revealed the sitcom was canceled in 2006 because she didn’t take the job seriously and frequently arrived late to set.
“I was still going to the club trying to get to set at like 9 a.m. Trying to get to a table read. Don’t do that ever,” she explained. “I do believe a lot of it had to do with the fact that I was trying to straddle both sides of my life. Like still trying to hold on to hanging out and I was late a lot.”
