Sean “Diddy” Combs will bring a story of love and loss to the screen in the upcoming film Off the Grid, based on his new LP The Love Album: Off the Grid.

The hip-hop mogul released the trailer for the film on Monday, Oct. 30. He makes his directorial debut on the project and stars alongside Ugandan model Eva Apio.

“Would you say you have an unhealthy relationship with love?” Apio asks in the video.

“I can’t handle the pain,” Combs responds as a home video of his former girlfriend Kim Porter plays in the background.

Porter died of lobar pneumonia in 2019. The model and actress shared three children with Combs, son Christian Casey and twin daughters D’Lila.

Combs says he put love “on a time-out” in the trailer. But Apio tells him to try again.

The Off the Grid movie tells the story of a “whirlwind romance with passion, drama and the enduring spirit of love,” according to a press release from Love Records.

The movie marks Apio’s first acting role after Bad Boy Records founder Combs “handpicked” her during a three-month search for a lead actress.

“Working with Eva was an incredible experience; her talent and energy brought my vision to life,” Combs said in a statement.

The Love Album: Off the Grid was released in September, and includes features by Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Swae Lee, Busta Rhymes, 21 Savage, Kehlani, and more.

The movie is executive produced by Chris Argueta, with Nour Sayeh serving as producer.

The Off The Grid film doesn’t yet have a release date. But Combs shared on social media the movie is “coming to a theatre near you soon!”
