Sean “Diddy” Combs picked up MTV’s “Global Icon Award” Tuesday night at the VMAs and celebrated with a show-stopping performance.
Mary J. Blige presented the Bad Boy Records founder with the award.
Before accepting the honor, Diddy took to the stage and performed a medley of Bad Boy hits.

Dressed in red from head to toe, the hip-hop mogul performed “I’ll Be Missing You,” “It’s All About the Benjamins,” “Bad Boy 4 Life,” “I Need A Girl (Pt. 2)” and the late Notorious B.I.G.’s hit “Mo Money Mo Problems.” But it was Puffy’s 2007 single “Last Night” featuring Keyshia Cole that really got the crowd going.
Wearing a black leather dress, matching stiletto boots, and shades, Cole joined Diddy and poured her heart into the song.
Unfortunately, Bad Boy icons Mase, Faith Evans, and Lil’ Kim didn’t take the stage, but Diddy did get assists from his son King Combs and on-off girlfriend Yung Miami.
Nicki Minaj, who served as the night’s host, performed her new song “Last Time I Saw You.” Minaj began the performance wearing a flowing Black puffy coat, then removed it to reveal a black bikini and sheer dress.
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion performed their new single “Bongos” — with the two rappers gyrating and twerking on stage.
Rapper-singer Doja Cat wore a sexy grey suit-like ensemble and performed “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red,” and “Demons.”
Shakira turned in a performance of her hits “She Wolf,” “Objection (Tango),” “Whenever, Wherever,” and “Hips Don’t Lie.”
Wyclef Jean, who co-wrote and co-produced “Hips Don’t Lie,” presented the Colombian singer-songwriter with MTV’s “Video Vanguard Award,” making her the first South American artist to receive the honor.
Lil Wayne opened the VMAs with a performance of “Back That Azz Up,” “Uproar” and “Kat Food.”
Demi Lovato rocked out with a performance of “Heart Attack,” “Cool For The Summer,” and “Sorry Not Sorry.”
The final performance of the night featured Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, Run-DMC, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, and Grand Master Flash in a celebration of hip hop’s 50th anniversary.
Other performers included Anitta, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Olivia Rodrigo, Fall Out Boy, Peso Pluma, and Metro Boomin ft. Future, Swae Lee, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie & NAV.
