MTV’s Making the Band may be coming back.

Sean “Diddy” Combs posted a video on Instagram Monday, July 8, saying he’s considering bringing the music reality series back to TV.

“Something interesting happened this morning that I need to share with you guys,” Diddy began. “MTV called me out of nowhere and was like ‘hey, what do you think about partnering and bringing Making the Band back?'”

As a stylist worked on his hair, the hip-hop mogul said he has reservations about resurrecting the show.

“Man, something so great, sometimes you don’t need to mess with it. You need to just leave it alone,” he said.

He added that he told MTV the show may be too much for most new artists to handle.

“I don’t think that there’s a lot of up-and-coming artists that can handle my level of intense coaching, and teaching, and preparation, and the way I mold and shape superstars. So I’m kind of on the fence about it,” the Bad Boy CEO explained.

He urged fans to hit him up on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or anywhere else you can find him, and let him know if Making the Band should come back, by using the hashtag #IWantMyMTB. But he warned the reboot would be hardcore.

“Shit. Y’all thought the cheesecake was something. Y’all ain’t seen nothing,” he joked.

Diddy was referring to one of Making the Band’s most infamous scenes, when he made members of Da Band walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn to get him a slice of cheesecake at Junior’s. The performers were steamed and cursed Diddy’s name, but most of them made the journey.

Making the Band premiered in 2000, with Diddy (then known as Puff Daddy) taking over the franchise two years after boy band O-Town was created. The revamped version of the show launched the careers of Da Band, Danity Kane, and Day26.

It also spawned some of the best moments on reality TV, including brawls, 6am workouts, emotional meltdowns, and a Chappelle’s Show skit.
