Sean “Diddy” Combs returned to court and confirmed reports that he rejected a plea deal from prosecutors ahead of his criminal trial.

During a pre-trial hearing at the federal courthouse in Manhattan on Thursday, May 1, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian asked Combs if he was drug free and his mind was “clear,” according to USA Today.

The music mogul replied, “Yes, your honor.”

The judge then asked the embattled superstar if he had indeed declined a plea agreement last week from prosecutors. Combs replied, “Yes, I do [decline] your honor, thank you.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed during the hearing.

Now that the Bad Boy Records founder has turned down the offer, jury selection in his sex trafficking and racketeering trial will begin on May 5, with opening statements set to start on May 12.

Combs wore a tan, jail-issued jumpsuit and glasses to Thursday’s hearing, although he’ll have on his own clothes during the trial.

The judge said in a motion earlier this week that the mogul can wear button down shirts, sweaters, pants, socks, and shoes without laces to court.

The items are to be delivered to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where Diddy is jailed after being denied bail by three different judges.

Combs, 55, was arrested on Sept. 16, 2024. He was initially charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

On April 3, prosecutors added two more charges in a superseding indictment, bringing the total to five counts. Combs pleaded not guilty to all five charges.
