Colman Domingo is set to face a battle for survival in Netflix’s upcoming thriller series, The Madness.
The Oscar-nominated actor plays media pundit Muncie Daniels, who is caught in a deadly conspiracy.
“Everything about this conspiracy thriller excited me,” Domingo told Netflix blog Tudum. “It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced.”

According to the official description for the series, Domingo’s character, Muncie, stumbles upon a murder in the Poconos woods. As the walls close in, Muncie strives to reconnect with his estranged family — and his lost ideals — in order to survive.
“You can just turn on the news right now, and you’re like, ‘What is being said? And how is that being done? And why is that normal?’ None of it is normal,” Domingo explained. “This [series] is really letting you know that you’re right. It’s not normal. Let’s get to the bottom of it.”
Joining Domingo in the cast are Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us, Orange Is the New Black), Gabrielle Graham (Twenties, 21 Thunder), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook), Tamsin Topolski (The Diplomat), and Thaddeus J. Mixon.
Domingo, 54, who received his first Oscar nomination for thr 2023 biopic Rustin made history as the first Afro Latino nominated in the best actor category. He earned an Emmy Award in 2022 for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for his role on HBO’s Euphoria.
The Madness is created by Stephen Belber, who serves as co-showrunner alongside executive producer VJ Boyd.
The eight-episode limited series is produced under Chernin Entertainment’s first-look deal with Netflix, with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill serving as executive producers, alongside director Clément Virgo.
The Madness premieres Nov. 28 — Thanksgiving Day — on Netflix.
