Federal prosecutors have asked a judge for permission to sell or dispose of dozens of items seized from Sean “Diddy” Combs, including $9,000 in cash and videotapes labeled “Ibiza Tapes.”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York submitted a final forfeiture order on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in New York federal court.
What Was Seized
In the 10-page document obtained by Urban Hollywood 411, the government asked Judge Arun Subramanian to give U.S. Customs and Border Protection permission to unload 92 items.
The items include cell phones, iPads, Samsung tablets, MacBook computers, PCs, and Sony DVCAM video cassette tapes labeled “Ibiza Tapes,” that were removed from the music mogul’s home at 2 Star Island in Miami Beach, Florida.
The filing includes a description of the items, noting when and where they were seized. Although there were no details listed about what’s on the videotapes.
Prosecutors said they published a preliminary forfeiture order publicly for “30 consecutive days,” from Oct. 15 through Nov. 13, 2025, to allow anyone with a “legal interest” in the items to file a petition with the court.
According to Tuesday’s filing, “no petitions or claims to contest the forfeiture” were filed.
Where Items Were Seized
The government says the 92 items were taken from four different locations during its sex-trafficking investigation into Combs. Some of the items came from the mogul’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami, which were raided by federal agents on March 25, 2024.
That same day, agents seized several other items when Combs and his associates were briefly detained at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in Florida.
More items were seized when the Bad Boy Records founder was arrested at the Park Hyatt in New York City on Sept. 16, 2024.
Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the racketeering and sex-trafficking charges, but convicted on the two prostitution-related counts.
The music mogul is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.
His released date has shifted multiple times. As of today, the Bureau of Prisons website said he is scheduled to be released on Feb. 20, 2028.
