Chris Rock was stunned into silence in a promo for this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live.
The actor and comedian was front and center with musical guest Gracie Abrams and SNL regular Heidi Gardner.
A smiling Gardner told Rock she “grew up” watching his stand-up routines.
Gardner said she especially liked Chris Rock: Bigger & Blacker, which was released in 1999.

She then told Rock something that sounded like a tall tale.
“Gracie and I were just saying how you did our absolute favorite movie in the world,” she said.
“Let me guess, Madagascar,” Rock responded.
“No! Pootie Tang,” Abrams chimed in.
“Y’all really liked Pootie Tang?” a shocked Rock asked, prompting the two to start quoting the movie.
Rock appeared a bit disappointed in Abrams and Gardner.
Written and directed by Louis C.K., Pootie Tang was based on a sketch from HBO’s The Chris Rock Show about a folk hero in the ghetto. The movie opened in theaters in 2001 and starred Rock, Lance Crouther, J.B. Smoove, Jennifer Coolidge, and Wanda Sykes.
The film got poor reviews, with critics saying it “overstays its welcome” on Rotten Tomatoes.
The comedy is now considered a cult classic, though it was a box office bust, after only taking in $3.3 million worldwide on a $7 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.
You can see more of Chris Rock this weekend when the SNL alum returns to host the NBC sketch series a fourth time.
As previously reported, Only Murders in the Building star Martin Short will host SNL’s final episode of the year, on Dec. 21.
Hozier will take the stage on the episode as musical guest, promoting the release of the deluxe version of the album Unreal Unearth, which hit stores on Dec. 6.
SNL airs Saturdays on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT and streams live on Peacock.
