The hip-hop star currently serves as a judge on the Netflix competition series Rhythm + Flow, along with Cardi B and Tip “T.I.” Harris. He released his album, The Big Day, in July.

Chance noted on Instagram he’s just the 27th person in 45 seasons to pull double duty by hosting and serving as musical guest.

He previously appeared as a musical guest on SNL in December 2015, and hosted the show when Eminem was musical guest in 2017.

Other upcoming hosts this season include Kristen Stewart and Eddie Murphy.

Murphy was an SNL cast member from 1980 to 1984, and kept the audience laughing with his Buckwheat and Stevie Wonder impersonations.
