Cassie Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, issued a statement after video surfaced of Sean “Diddy” Combs appearing to brutally assault Ventura.

The video released on Friday, May 17, showed a man resembling Combs punching and repeatedly kicking Cassie in the hallway at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

Shortly after CNN published the hotel surveillance footage online, Fine posted a screenshot of a self-written letter about domestic violence on Instagram.

In the caption, Fine said he penned the letter “awhile back” but the words “ring true not just today but every day.”

The letter from the model and fitness trainer began by calling out male abusers and their enablers.

“Men who hit women aren’t men,” Fine wrote. “Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men.”

He continued, “As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable — check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved… Men who hurt women hate women.”

Fine then offered reassuring words to anyone who has suffered abuse.

“To all the survivors, find the men and women who help and love. To all the survivors, your stories are real, and people believe you,” Fine added. “I want to raise my daughters in a world where they are safe and loved.”

Fine concluded by writing, “To all the abusers, you’re done…”

He also reminded anyone who needs help they can call the domestic violence hotline at (800) 799-7233.

Fine and Ventura married in 2019, and have two young daughters together.

Ventura, an R&B singer known for songs including “Me & U,” met the much-older Combs in 2005. He signed her to his Bad Boy Records label and the two dated on-and-off for about a decade.

She filed a civil lawsuit against the music mogul on Nov. 16, 2023, alleging rape, battery and trafficking, and included details about the incident at the Los Angeles hotel, saying it happened “around March 2016.”

Diddy settled the lawsuit one day after it was filed.

The mogul released a statement through his attorney, saying the agreement was not an “admission of wrongdoing.”

Combs has since been sued by three other women and male music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones alleging sexual abuse.

He has denied all of the allegations through his lawyers.
