“I just want it to be the best Christmas ever,” Murphy says in the trailer.

“End hunger, stop climate change, a new Drake album,” Mixson chimes in.

Tracee Ellis Ross agrees, the world needs more Drake music. “I love Drake!” she says.

The fictional family members are gettimg their wish early, because Drake dropped his eighth solo studio album, For All the Dogs, on Oct. 6. The LP includes the singles “8AM in Charlotte” and “Slime You Out” featuring SZA.

But with the album’s release came a bit of bad news for fans. Drake revealed on Sirius XM’s “Table For One” podcast that he’s taking a break from music for “maybe a year,” to deal with health issues.

“I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. So I need to focus on my health and I need to get right,” he said during the Oct. 6 interview.

As for Candy Cane Lane, the holiday film is inspired by a true story and directed Reginald Hudlin.

The movie premieres globally on Prime Video Dec. 1, 2023.
