Eddie Murphy will bring laughs and holiday cheer to the screen in the new movie Candy Cane Lane, debuting in December.
Prime Video released first-look images from the film on Tuesday, Oct. 10, showing Murphy delivering smiles and getting in the Christmas spirt.

The comedian plays Chris, a man set on winning his neighborhood’s annual Christmas decoration contest. But his ambition leads him to unwittingly strike a deal with Pepper, a playful elf portrayed by Jillian Bell.
The mischievous Pepper conjures up a spell that animates the iconic 12 Days of Christmas, plunging the town into turmoil. As the holiday magic spirals out of control — Chris, his wife Carol, played by Tracee Ellis Ross, and their three children find themselves trying to safeguard the Christmas spirit for all.
The cast also includes Nick Offerman, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino, Robin Thede, Chris Redd, Genneya Walton, Madison Thomas, D.C. Young Fly.
Riki Lindhome, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Lombardo Boyar, Danielle Pinnock, and Timothy Simons have roles in the film as well.
Producers include Brian Grazer, Karen Lunder, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, and Eddie Murphy.
The movie reunites Murphy with director Reginald Hudlin for the first time since their hit film Boomerang was released in 1992.
Hudlin said in a previous statement, “Eddie Murphy and this hilarious cast really bring the funny, it’s super Christmas-y, and it will hit you right in the feels.”
The filmmaker helmed the movie from a script by Kelly Younger, whose screenplay was inspired by his own childhood experiences on Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo, California.
Candy Cane Lane premieres globally on Prime Video Dec. 1, 2023.
