Beyoncé Booked to Play NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show on Netflix

Beyoncé is set to take the stage at halftime of the NFL Christmas Gameday live on Netflix matchup between the Ravens and Texans.

Netflix and the NFL made the announcement on Sunday night, saying the Grammy-winning singer will perform in her hometown of Houston, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium.

The game will mark Beyoncé’s first live performance of music from her Cowboy Carter album, which just picked up a leading 11 Grammy nominations, including album of the year and best country album.

The singer’s company Parkwood Entertainment will produce the halftime show in partnership with Jesse Collins Entertainment.

While details about the performance are closely guarded, Netflix teased Beyoncé will likely bring along a few special guests featured on her Cowboy Carter album.

The singer is no stranger to NFL appearances. She headlined the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show on Feb. 3, 2013, in New Orleans, Louisiana; and was joined onstage by her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

For Super Bowl XV, on Feb. 7, 2016, she joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars in Santa Clara, California for one of the most-watched Super Bowl halftime shows with an audience of 115.5 million.

Netflix will stream the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games for the first time.

The Super Bowl LVII-winning Kansas City Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 PM ET in the first game. Then the Houston Texans take on the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 PM ET.

In keeping with the NFL’s holiday tradition, the Netflix Christmas Day games will air on broadcast TV in the competing team cities and will be available on U.S. mobile devices with NFL+.
