The women of Belle Collective are moving up, calling shots, and dealing with family drama in a first look video from OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

The video features the show’s five Black female entrepreneurs at work, at play, and at home in Jackson, Mississippi.

At one point in the preview, Lateshia Pearson, who is CEO of the National Women’s Brunch Organization, says she’s buying up property and revitalizing part of Jackson. While her career is apparently booming, she admits to having problems at home.

“I have a husband. We’ve been through infidelity,” she says. Moments later, Lateshia is shown yelling at her husband about helping around the house. “What’s wrong with you putting on an apron while I’m trying to get this up off the ground for us,” she says as her husband walks away.

As the video continues, the women share stories about relationship issues and the tears flow.

Other cast members include Mississippi dentist, Dr. Antoinette Liles; Hair studio owner Latrice Rogers; self-made millionaire Marie Hamilton-Abston; and on-air radio personality Tambra Cherie.

OWN announced it picked up the series earlier this month, and described the show’s stars as “determined to break ceilings – glass and otherwise – while shredding long-held stereotypes of the South.”

The unscripted reality show is executive produced by Kingdom Reign Entertainment, the production company behind OWN’s Love and Marriage: Huntsville. Carlos King, a producer for The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, and Slane Hatch, who directed an episode of House Hunters International, serve as the show’s executive producers.

Belle Collective is set to premiere on Friday, Jan. 15 at 10PM ET/PT.

  1. Just watched the into to new series. Another group of loud mouthed women with fake hair , fake boobs. Fake eyelashes and faje nails and bad attitudes. If the so called “ladies “ are self made millionaires why the need to tear at each other so much. They are immature and insecure We get you are wearing Loubaitans fatty You dont need to put your legs up on the desk while you swing your finger at people I would be embarrased to act like such fools.

    1. I Agree! Just ignorant acting! On top of that, to repeat over and over again “I’m rich” is a sign of an insecure woman who is use to having nothing and now wants to throw having a little something in everyone’s faces. Plus she’s jealous of the younger girls on the show

  2. I am surprised this is on OWN because it doesn’t live up to Oprah’s standards. I am concerned that people will think this is what the African American elite does. I am a self made millionaire, with an Ivy League education, in a black sorority and The Links and I consistently give back to the community. My friends, both black and white, reflect my lifestyle. I have never witnessed this time of behavior. I am blessed by my black girlfriends. They served as my role models and inspirations.

    1. Preach! This type of behavior is horrible to put out there. It is making us all look bad. I’m not yet a Millionaire but I’m a self made woman with 2 businesses and a job and none of my friends, Black, white, Asian….behave in this manner. This show is embarrassing to our culture

  3. Hi Adree, love your post. I saw a commercial for this show and really would like your opinion. Did one of the ladies say she has to talk differently to black people vs white people? I don’t understand the meaning of this statement and would really value your thoughts. Have a wonderful day! ??

  4. Very tacky and unprofessional…especially the Mental Health Specialist. She should have discussed her displeasure privately, and not bring it up at a table full of people. I don’t care how rich you are, she was very unprofessional, rude and tacky. Maybe the person she took the hair to make a weave changed it out. She need to deal with her own cheating husband, and lazy son who can’t take care of his own family. I think she need to speak with a mental health professional.
