Bel-Air returns in February, with Will facing some tough choices.
Peacock released a teaser trailer for the 10-episode second season on Thursday. Jabari Banks, who leads the cast as Will, narrates the 45-second video.
“Life is a series of choices — a world of either this (West Philadelphia) or that (Bel-Air),” Banks says in the video.
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, the one-hour drama follows Will’s complicated journey from the streets of Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. As his two worlds collide, Will is forced to navigate the conflicts, emotions, and biases of a world very different from the place where he grew up.
Season 2 picks up with “Will at a crossroads in his life as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence. He juggles this while navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season,” per Peacock.

The new season also finds Will and Carlton growing closer. Hilary evolves as an influencer, and Viv and Phil balance marriage and family while trying to forge their own career paths.
Inspired by Morgan Cooper’s viral trailer, the series offers a modern, dramatic take on 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, that launched rapper Will Smith into TV stardom.
Cooper serves as an executive producer alongside showrunner, executive producer and writer Carla Banks Waddles.
“Last season was very much about the introduction to the Banks family world, and this season we get to go deeper with some of the themes we touched on – What it truly means to be a family even when it’s challenging. How do you rebuild trust within a family? How do you find your own way, your individualism within a family?” Banks Waddles said in a statement.
Anthony Sparks, Malcolm Spellman, Will Smith, Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Benny Medina, Quincy Jones, Andy & Susan Borowitz, TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson are also executive producers.
In addition to Jabari Banks, the ensemble cast includes Adrian Holmes as Phillip Banks; Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks; Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks; Coco Jones as Hilary Banks; Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks; Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey; Jordan L. Jones as Jazz; and Simone Joy Jones as Lisa.
The show is filmed in Los Angeles and produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Westbrook Studios.
Season 2 of Bel-Air premieres Feb. 23, 2023, with three episodes at launch and new episodes streaming on Thursdays.
