The trailer shows Dawn (Buteau) in the hospital about to give birth. With her friend Eden (Glazer) by her side, Dawn shares there’s more coming out down there than just a baby.
“Oh my God, I feel like a have to s–t!” she yells.
Dawn asks if she just pooped on her baby, and Eden explains what just happened.
“It’s more like you just babied on your s–t,” she says.
The film comes from co-writers Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz, and is directed by Pamela Adlon.
According to the official description, “Babes delves into the complexities of female friendship with a blend of laughter, tears, and labor pains.”
The comedy debuted at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival to strong reviews from critics.
