As documentaries about the D4vd case move forward, the family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez has chosen not to participate, the family’s attorney says.

Producers have contacted the family about potential interviews related to the murder of 14-year-old Celeste, attorney Patrick Steinfeld said in a statement this week to Urban Hollywood 411.

“Several documentary film production companies have approached the Rivas Hernandez family directly and through my office about participating in a documentary about Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” Steinfeld wrote.

“They are not interested in appearing in a documentary at this time,” the attorney added.

TMZ, which was the first outlet to report on the documentary projects, said some of the films are already in production. The outlet did not say who is behind the documentaries or where they might potentially air.

Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered and decomposed body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd on Sept. 8, 2025, after LAPD officers were called to a Hollywood tow yard about a strong odor coming from an impounded vehicle.

The singer, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested at his Hollywood Hills home on April 16, 2026, after a months-long investigation.

Burke, 21, was charged with first-degree murder and other counts, and pleaded not guilty. He is being held without bail.

In an April court filing, Los Angeles County prosecutors alleged the singer stabbed Rivas Hernandez multiple times, and dismembered her body in the garage of his rented home with a chainsaw.

Prosecutors said the evidence includes online orders for two chainsaws and a body bag. While an alias was used to place the orders, the items were reportedly delivered to the singer’s home.

The nine-page document said Burke met Rivas Hernandez when she was 11 years old, and allegedly began having sex with her when she was 13 and he was 18.

At a news conference in April, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said the police department’s seven-month investigation included extensive “digital and forensic” evidence.

Prosecutors alleged the singer killed the teen to prevent her from exposing their relationship. However, Burke’s attorneys have said he was not responsible for the teenager’s death.

“Let us be clear, the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez, and he was not the cause of her death,” attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter said in a joint statement. “David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”

Burke is scheduled to return to court for a status conference on June 17. His preliminary hearing was rescheduled until the end of this month.
