Nikki Glaser killed it last year on Netflix’s Tom Brady roast, but her gig on Saturday Night Live is getting mixed reviews.
Glaser hosted the NBC sketch series for the first time this weekend, and her opening monologue was provocative, to say the least.
She dressed to impress in a black minidress. Although some viewers were far from impressed by the comedian’s jokes about sex trafficking, rape, domestic violence, slave labor, and child molestation.

The in-studio audience barely laughed, and social media users called her set “horrible.”
Slave Labor Joke:
“You can go to the nail salon with a friend, but you get separated at the border. They do not let you sit next to each other. It’s so anti-social. You’re just sitting there watching Beat Bobby Flay on mute,” she said. “You can’t talk to the woman doing your nails because, slavery? I don’t know! She seems stuck and sad. I don’t know.”
Sex Trafficking:
“I’m just obsessed with slavery recently because every time you go a women’s restroom, a public women’s restroom, and you sit in the stall, there’s always a poster on the back of the stall that’s asking you if you’re being trafficked,” she said. “They’re in every stall. They’re in every world language. The English is really tiny and it’s like, ‘You wish.’”
“Men’s restrooms do not have these signs. I don’t know what signs you have? You have signs that are like, ‘Want a slave? Text traffick to 69-69,’” Glaser said.
Domestic Violence:
“Girls don’t like short guys. I guess it’s because you want a tall guy so you can feel like, ‘Oh he can protect me and murder me some day,'” she said.
Child Molestation:
“I was staying at my sister’s house recently and at one point I was like, ‘I’m gonna go take a shower.’ My nephew comes running in and he’s like, ‘I wanna take a shower with you,'” she said.
Glaser joked that her nephew is 18, but said she was just kidding, because he’s really 4 years old. She said her sister told her the child showers with his parents.
“I’m like, ‘That’s fine for you guys but are you really okay with an adult showering with your child?’ Maybe it’s okay if you come and supervise… ’cause what if I molest him?’ She was like, ‘Would you?’ I was like, ‘no! I would never, that’s disgusting!’ But that’s what I’d say if I was gonna [do it].”

SNL posted Glaser’s monologue on X Saturday night and viewers filled the post with replies. The majority were negative.
“This was actually horrible and gross. The things she made ‘jokes’ about were not okay. Turned it off after this and I’m a huge SNL fan and watcher. But this was disgusting…” one viewer replied.
“Disgusting!! SNL you thought anything she said was appropriate. Not one bit funny. Horrible monologue,” another commented.
“Nearly three women in the USA are killed by an intimate partner every day. #nojoke,” someone else wrote.
“She is generally pretty funny, but she’s doing the offensive humor crap that the weak comedians do when they are trying too hard. I thought she would be better,” another viewer wrote.
“Nikki is always hilarious and edgy but this wasn’t the right audience. This would land better for a Netflix special maybe, but not SNL. The beginning bit was funny,” someone else shared.
Despite the backlash, other viewers said they liked what they heard.
“She crushed it. She deserved a better audience. Well done,” someone commented.
“I loved it. The delivery is edgy and walks the line that men would love if a man delivered these lines,” someone else shared.
“Lotta pearl clutching in these comments by folks with zero sense of humor. It’s a comedy show people!” another viewer posted.
