Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has made the executive decision to renew Power for another season. The only problem is, he doesn’t really have the power to make that decision.
The rapper and actor, who serves as an executive producer on the hit Starz drama, took to Instagram Tuesday to claim there would be a seventh season of the series.
“I Changed my mind POWER is not going to be over after season 6. This shit is too good,” he captioned a photo of himself.

Starz had no comment when contacted by Urban Hollywood 411 about the claim made by 50 Cent. Last month the premium cable network announced Power‘s upcoming sixth season would be its last.
“However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin,” Carmi Zlotnik, president of programming for Starz, said in a press release suggesting there would be a spinoff.
Series creator and co-showrunner Courtney A. Kemp also said we may see Ghost and the gang in the future.
“We will follow some of your beloved Power characters beyond the scope of the initial series,” Kemp said.
The final season of Power will include 15 episodes instead of the usual 10. It will also mark 50 Cent’s directorial debut. The rapper appeared in the first five seasons as Kanan, before his character died.
Emmy Award-winning director Anthony Hemingway (The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story and Underground) will helm the series finale.
The sixth and final season of Power premieres Sunday, August 25 on Starz.
