Yo! MTV Raps is back! A reimagined version of the music show that brought rap music to the masses is set to begin streaming this month on Paramount+.

Scheduled guests include Freddie Gibbs, Latto, Saba, JID, Tee Grizzley and Trina among others.

The original Yo! MTV Raps ran from 1988 to 1995 and was the first hip-hop series to be released on the music television network.

“Before 1988, hip-hop was underground,” says the revival’s trailer, “then Yo! MTV Raps changed everything.”

Hosted by Fab 5 Freddy and later Doctor Dré, the original show’s run featured acts like N.W.A, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Ice-T, De La Soul, Eric B. & Rakim, Run-DMC and Eric B. & Rakim.

The show helped spread hip-hop around the world via MTV Europe, MTV Asia, and MTV Latino, introducing the music to other cultures.

Executive producers for the revival series are Kurt Williamson, Warren Oliver and Michelle Kenner. Bruce Gillmer and Jennifer Demme will serve as executive producers for MTV.

The celebrity guests will appear on the following dates:
