Yara Shahidi has been cast as Tinkerbell in Disney’s upcoming film, Peter Pan and Wendy.
The Black-ish actress will play the iconic fairy alongside Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will star as Peter and Wendy respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jude Law has signed on to play Captain Hook.

The live-action remake of Disney’s 1953 animated fantasy adventure will center on the boy who wouldn’t grow up, and will be directed David Lowery, who previously helmed Disney’s Pete’s Dragon.
Shahidi confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, “lettssssgooooo. #Tinkerbell.”
Past actresses to play Tinkerbell on the big screen include Julia Roberts in Hook (1991) and Ludivine Sagnier in Peter Pan (2003).
