Donald Trump is guilty and Whoopi Goldberg is celebrating the former president’s conviction in his hush money trial.
Goldberg, who normally works Monday-Thursday on The View, made a rare Friday appearance on the daytime talk show for a special episode unpacking the verdict.
“Do not adjust your TV set. Yes, I’m here on Friday because this is a very unique moment in history. That’s why we’re all here at the table,” Goldberg said on the show’s May 31 episode.
She was joined by Joy Behar, who normally serves as moderator on Fridays, along with co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and former Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin.

The panelists debated a New York City jury’s decision to convict Trump on 34 counts for falsifying business records in a scheme to hide a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Daniels testified that she had sex with Trump years ago, which he has denied.
Trump’s former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, told the court his ex-boss approved a payoff to Daniels just before the 2016 election, to stop voters from finding out about the alleged sexual encounter.
The View co-hosts discussed how they reacted the moment they learned Trump had been found guilty.
“I got so excited that I started leaking,” Behar shared.
Farah Griffin offered a more sobering response.
“Knowing Donald Trump personally, there’s something in him that thinks he’s untouchable and will get away with everything,” she said. “My one caution is he does have an appeals process ahead. The election is in five months and there’s a world in which he could get away with this if he becomes president… and running for president to stay out of jail is a hell of a motivator.”
Navarro thanked Stormy Daniels for “holding Trump accountable,” while Hostin compared the verdict to a personal victory.
“I felt like the Knicks won the tournament. I felt like America won. I felt like New York won. I felt like the Manhattan D.A.’s office won. I felt like I won!” Hostin told the audience.
Trump spoke to reporters right after the verdict was read. He said the trial was “rigged” and insisted “I’m a very innocent man.”
Hostin’s response, “This was a case of trying to win an election by hiding an affair.”
Goldberg urged the judge in the case to sentence Trump to at least “six months in prison.” The actress and comedian ended the episode by taking a moment to gloat.
“We only have about 34 seconds left, so, to recap…” she said.
“Guilty,” Goldberg chanted 34 times in honor of each count Trump was convicted on.
