Vin Diesel has a message for Fast & Furious fans — see you in theaters soon for F9.
A new promo for the film dropped Sunday, with Diesel urging movie buffs to “come back together” for the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious saga.
“It’s been a while,” the actor and producer says in the video. “The roads were a little empty. Places where we used to gather went quiet. We’ve gone through a year that tested us, but we’re starting to see the promise of a new day.”

With more people getting COVID-19 vaccines and states easy restrictions, Diesel says it’s time for a little escapism at the movies.
“For more than 100 years, there’s one place where we all came together to be entertained. To escape, to go someplace new — the movies. There’s nothing like that moment when the lights go down. The projector ignites, and we believe,” he says.
The video then switches to a heart-pounding car chase, before Diesel says: “It’s time to come back together. To laugh. To cheer. We’re ready to make you believe again. Because nobody does a comeback like the movies. We’ll see you soon.”
The film also features returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang, plus Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
New characters include former WWE Champion John Cena as Jakob Toretto, the brother of Vin Diesel’s character, and Grammy-winner Cardi B as Leysa, a woman with a connection to Dom’s past. There’s also a cameo by Reggaeton star Ozuna.
Fast & Furious 9 is directed by Justin Lin, and was delayed several times. The film is now set to drive into theaters in North America on June 25, 2021.
