President Donald Trump has lashed out at the nation’s top fashion magazines for not featuring his wife, Melania Trump, on a single cover since his term began in January 2017.
Trump took time out on Christmas day to praise the first lady as “the greatest of all time,” while trashing the fashion press as “fake news.”
He retweeted a post from conservative outlet Breitbart News that said: “The elitist snobs in the fashion press have kept the most elegant First Lady in American history off the covers of their magazines for 4 consecutive years.”

The Breitbart post linked to an article about the “sleek ensemble” Mrs. Trump wore earlier this week when the couple left the White House to spend Christmas at Mar-a-Lago.
The Daily Mail also chimed in and noted that Michelle Obama appeared on at least 12 magazine covers, including three times on the front page of Vogue, during the eight years President Barack Obama was in the White House.
Still, many other media outlets bashed Trump for focusing his attention and Twitter feed on the fashion biz, instead of the bombing in Nashville, the nation’s deadly surge in coronavirus cases, the looming deadline on pandemic unemployment benefits, and a potential government shutdown.
Meanwhile on Saturday, Trump spent most of the day on Twitter complaining that the November election was stolen from him.
Among his many posts was a tweet calling President-elect Joe Biden’s victory “fake,” while claiming elections in Afghanistan are more secure than those in the U.S.
“A young military man working in Afghanistan told me that elections in Afghanistan are far more secure and much better run than the USA’s 2020 Election. Ours, with its millions and millions of corrupt Mail-In Ballots, was the election of a third world country. Fake President!” Trump tweeted, without elaborating on the identity of the “young military man.”
Twitter slapped a disclaimer on the post, essentially saying it’s fake news.
