Travis Scott is no longer facing charges in France after he was arrested for allegedly fighting with a hotel security guard and his own personal bodyguard.

On Saturday, Aug. 10, multiple outlets reported the rapper was “released with no charges.

Meantime, the Paris prosecutor’s office told the Associated Press: “The police custody order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings (against him) were terminated because the incident was minor.”

The Grammy-nominated rapper, born Jacques Webster, was taken into custody early Friday morning after an alleged altercation at the Four Seasons Hotel George V. At the time, the Paris prosecutor’s office said police were called to the luxury hotel and arrested a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard.”

The altercation reportedly happened after hotel security tried to break up a fight between Scott and his bodyguard. Tension between the music star and his bodyguard reportedly escalated because Scott was “chased and harassed” by paparazzi for days, “with no help given.”

The hitmaker traveled to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, and watched the United States rally over Serbia in the men’s basketball semifinal on Thursday night.

Scott’s third studio album, Astroworld (2018), produced his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Sicko Mode” (featuring Drake).

The father-of-two is originally from Houston, Texas.

In 2018, he launched the Astroworld Music Festival in his hometown. The 2021 festival ended in tragedy when ten people were killed during a stampede.
