The Upshaws are back for more family dysfunction.
Netflix released the trailer for part 6 of the comedy on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
The series centers around Bernard “Bennie” Upshaw (Mike Epps) and his sister-in-law Lucretia Turner (Wanda Sykes) — who are frequently at odds.
“Why’d nobody pick me up from the airport,” Lucretia asks while walking through the front door.
“Cause we don’t want you here,” Bennie tells his sister-in-law.
Last season, Lucretia and her fiancé Frank were moving to Atlanta to distance themselves from her meddling family.

Bennie is a well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess who is trying his best to step up and care for his family, which includes his wife Regina (Kim Fields), their two daughters (Khali Spraggins, Journey Christine), his firstborn son (Jermelle Simon), and the teenage son (Diamond Lyons) he fathered with another woman (Gabrielle Dennis).
Netflix has released the multi-camera comedy in “parts” instead of seasons since its premiere in May 2021.
Season 2 (Parts 2 and 3) was released in June 2022 and February 2023. Season 3 (Parts 4 and 5) debuted in August 2023 and April 2024.
As previously reported, Netflix announced the show’s cancellation in a press release on June 7, saying the sitcom has been renewed for a final season (Part 7).
A release date for the final season will be announced later, though it’s known that it will consist of 12 episodes.
The series was created by Wanda Skyes and Regina Hicks — who are also executive producers along with Mike Epps, Page Hurwitz, and Niles Kirchner.
Part 6 will premiere on Netflix Jan. 9, 2025.
