If you miss an episode of The Breakfast Club on the radio, you’ll soon be able to catch it on TV.

BET will begin airing the syndicated New York radio show featuring hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy on April 17, the cable network announced this week.

“BET has been the home of so many cultural institutions, like Rap City and 106 & Park, that have shaped a generation,” Charlamagne Tha God said in a statement. “Those shows laid the foundation for The Breakfast Club to stand on and grow into the cultural institution that we have become. We look forward to carrying on the tradition.”

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to showcase The Breakfast Club on BET,” added DJ Envy. “I love what the new BET is doing!”

The TV version titled The Breakfast Club on BET features interviews and conversations with celebrities, artists, and thought leaders along with entertainment news and conversations on the culture.

The agreement to bring the show to TV is part of a new partnership between BET and iHeartMedia. The condensed one-hour daily edition will air Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. ET on BET and sister network VH1.

“What began as a daily morning radio show over a decade ago in New York City, has now become a cultural beacon across America,” said John Sykes, iHeartMedia’s president of entertainment enterprises. “This new partnership with BET will expand the radio show’s reach to millions more watching on this iconic television network.”

The show marks BET’s entry into daily, daytime programming.

“We recognize the show’s influence and popularity, and we are confident that the partnership will be meaningful to our viewers and to our partners,” said BET CEO and President Scott Mills.

News of the TV partnership comes less than a year after former Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee announced she was leaving the show in August 2022.

Yee told listeners she was hanging up her microphone after 12 years to launch Way Up with Angela Yee on iHeartMedia stations.

Yee made headlines earlier this month when she appeared on the Tamron Hall Show and said it was “hard” being “the only woman” on The Breakfast Club.

“It wasn’t an easy room for me to be in,” Yee told host Tamron Hall. “I feel like I did need more like backup you know because even things that I felt, as a woman…somebody can’t understand your point of view because they’re not coming from where you come from. So that was hard for me too, to be the only woman there.”

DJ Envy responded by telling The Shade Room, “There are plenty of women that work behind the scenes” on the show.

The program, which originates from New York’s Power 105.1, has been using guest hosts since Yee’s official departure in December.

The Breakfast Club on BET premieres Monday, April 17 at 9 a.m. ET on BET and VH1. Episodes from the week will all be available to stream every Sunday on BET+.
