Audiences eagerly awaited one of the most anticipated installments of Saturday Night Live in recent years — the post-election episode following the 2020 presidential race.
Comedian Dave Chappelle hosted the Nov. 7 show, returning to the stage again just like he did after the 2016 election.

As for Saturday’s “Weekend Update” segment, Michael Che had a drink in his hand as he traded jokes with co-host Colin Jost.
Che’s first laugh from the audience came when he answered “Good!” and took a sip of his drink after saying President Trump reportedly told allies he would have to be dragged out of the White House kicking and screaming.
“You know, ever since Biden won, everything I was worried about or mad about just sort of faded away,” Che said. “I mean, the problems are still there, but remember that Shawshank scene when the dudes are drinking beer on the roof? They were still in prison, but for one day, everything just felt OK.”

After borrowing from the film Shawshank Redemption, Che admitted he felt a sense of relief knowing Trump would soon be gone.
“That’s how I feel now. I’m so relieved. If Trump won, I thought there would be a race war. Colin, me and my friends were going to kidnap you. I rented a big ole fridge and everything, it was a good plan,” he joked.
One of Che’s other jokes touched on the fact that many White Republicans are heartbroken because Trump lost. Still, he said, there’s a “bright side.”
“You still got Joe Biden. He’s not the old White guy you want, but he’s still an old White guy. Is it that different? You ordered a Gordita Crunch, and you got a Chalupa, big deal,” he said as the audience laughed about his references to Mexican fast food.
