Rondell Sheridan, an actor best known for playing family patriarch Victor Baxter on That’s So Raven, appealed to fans for financial help after he was hospitalized for pancreatitis.
Sheridan, 66, announced he was ill in a video he posted to Instagram on Tuesday, May 6.
The actor and comedian recorded the video from a hospital bed and said he started to feel ill last month.
“On April 10th, I was on the road and got sick. Went to the hospital and they thought it was gastric. I got home on the 12th and immediately went to the hospital… and was told it’s pancreatitis,” he explained. “Tons of tests. I was in the hospital for nine days. I got released and thought I was on the road to recovery.”

Sheridan said he continued to suffer complications even after he went home, and won’t be able to work for a while.
He created a GoFundMe page to help cover medical bills. So far, he’s raised over $39,000, surpassing his $35,000 goal.
“I didn’t realize I was going to be, and will be, out of work for quite some time,” he said. “I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help with some of my medical bills and just expenses. If you have anything that you could donate, I’d gladly appreciate it. Thank you so much.”
Fans sent him well-wishes along with their donations. Among the comments were, “Wishing you a painless recovery.” Some celebrities even donated to the fund.
