Hall will play Gail Bishop, the queer black head master of the Belleville house at Ancaster, a liberal arts college outside Boston. The character is forced to manage her campus as racism causes tensions while students and faculty are haunted by evil supernatural forces.
The film will be written and directed by Mariama Diallo, and is scheduled to begin production in New York in 2020.
