Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially Hollywood players.
The royal couple has signed a multi-year production deal with Netflix, that will allow them to produce movies, scripted series, docuseries, documentaries, features and children’s programming.
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement to the New York Times. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

They will specifically be producing content that resonates with them and their mission to help create global change. Some of the projects will also highlight issues that their nonprofit foundation, Archewell, is working on.
“We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer, said in a statement.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. However, sources told The Times the couple had been seeking $100 million dollars — similar to the deals that Kenya Barris and Jerry Seinfeld inked with the streamer.
Netflix has about 193 million subscribers across the world, which factored into the couple’s decision.
“[Netflix’s] unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action,” the said.
