Starz is cutting ties with Power Book IV: Force.

The crime drama’s upcoming third season will be its last, according to series star Joseph Sikora.

The actor, who leads the cast as Tommy Egan, shared news of the cancellation in a video he posted to Instagram on Thursday, June 13.

Sikora said showrunner and executive producer Gary Lennon is crafting the final chapter of Force, although we may see more of Tommy in the future.

“When Gary Lennon and the other writers and I were mapping out our third season, we saw that we were telling a complete story, and that this was the perfect opportunity to stay true to our artistic vision and make this the final chapter in Tommy’s journey in Chicago,” Sikora said in the video. “But don’t worry, Tommy’s journey is far from over with. We’re just getting warmed up, and I can’t wait to show you what we have planned next.”

Sikora then praised the show’s cast and crew, and urged viewers to watch season 3 “because ghosts never die, and Power never ends.”

Gary Lennon confirmed the cancellation in a statement Thursday evening.

“It is bittersweet to write the fulfilling ending of this chapter in Tommy’s journey, a character myself and fans have grown to love over the past decade,” Lennon said in a statement. “Season 3 will question everything we thought we knew of Tommy’s world and I promise you it will not disappoint! Although this may be the end of the road for Force, there is much more expansive, compelling storytelling for the characters within the Power Universe.”

Power Book IV: Force premiered in February 2022.

The series is the third spinoff in the Power universe, and follows Tommy in Chicago after he left the drug game in New York behind.

The cast also includes Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons, Shane Harper, Kris D. Lofton, Carmela Zumbado, Manuel Eduardo Ramirez, Miriam A. Hyman, Chris Tardio, Adrienne Walker, Anthony Fleming III, and Lucien Cambric.

Lionsgate Television produces the drama, which was renewed for a third season in December.

News of the cancellation comes as Starz shakes up its programming lineup. On March 13, the network announced a new series titled Origins, focusing on the origin story of Tommy Egan and James “Ghost” St. Patrick.

Longtime Power universe producer Sascha Penn has been tapped to executive produce Origins, which is currently in development.

The day after Starz went public with details about Origins, the network said Power Book II: Ghost, which features a star-studded cast led by Michael Rainey Jr., would end with its fourth season, which is currently airing.
