‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 Premiere Sets Starz Viewership Record

The season 3 premiere of Power Book II: Ghost leveled up and came out on top.

The episode scored 5.8 million multi-platform viewers in its first three days, setting a new viewership record for Starz as its biggest premiere weekend ever, the network said in a news release Thursday.

Those viewership numbers are based on early reporting and could climb even higher.

The vast majority of the nearly 6 million Ghost viewers streamed the premiere, with just 362,000 watching on cable, per Nielsen figures.

In another win for the crime drama, the March 17 premiere brought in 30 percent more viewers than the season 2 debut in November 2021.

The season 3 cast also includes Mary J. Blige as “Monet,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith as “Davis MacLean,” Gianni Paolo as “Brayden Weston,” Alix Lapri as “Effie Morales,” Woody McClain as “Cane Tejada,” Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada,” LaToya Tonodeo as “Diana Tejada,” Berto Colon as “Lorenzo Tejada,” Keesha Sharp as “Professor Harper Bennet,” Larenz Tate as “Rashad Tate,” and Lauren Velez as “Evelyn Castillo.”

Power Book II: Ghost is the first spinoff in the expanded Power franchise.

Starz gave the series an early fourth season renewal in January, with Michael Ealy set to join the season 4 cast.

Brett Mahoney serves as showrunner and executive producer for season 3. The series is executive produced by the creator and showrunner of the original Power, Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.

New episodes of Power Book II: Ghost debut Fridays at midnight ET on the Starz app, and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. On TV, The series airs Friday nights on Starz in the U.S. and Canada.
